Review :

Yaman political thriller film written and directed by Jeeva Shankar. Co-produced by Lyca Productions and Vijay Antony Film Corporation, the film features Vijay Antony and Mia George in the lead roles, while Thiagarajan portrays another pivotal character. The film, which features Jeeva Shankar and Vijay Antony doubling up as the cinematographer and the music composer respectively.

The film opens with a flashback that happened some 30 years ago, when Tamilarasu's (Vijay Antony) father was murdered for political reasons, and his mother too kills herself in grief. Since then Vijay Antony is being taken care of by his grand father. We are back to the current day and Vijay Antony decides to go jail just for money so that his grandfather can be treated for cancer. With the contacts he earned at jail, Vijay Antony gets introduced to Thiyagaran, an EX MLA, who in turn introduces him to a Minister - the one who killed Vijay's father several years ago. In the mean time, Anjana (Miya George) a popular actress falls in love with Vijay Antony after they got introduced incidentally in a road accident. Later our hero decides to plunge into politics and opts to contest the state assembly elections. The rest of the film is about how Vijay Antony manages to escape from the tactics of political opponents and succeed in his political career.

Vijay Anthony once again delivers impressive performance. Mia George is easy on eyes and does neat job in her limited role. Thiagarajan too is okay. Charle appeals in a serious character as Thyagu, minister Pandu's PA. All others did justice to their roles. Director Jeeva Shankar, who himself is a cinematographer, offers good visuals supported with the strong writing. The film has enough twists and turns that are unpredict.

Rating : 3/5
